It was only with Rock that I truly began to feel that recovery was a possibility. When I think back on the years that I spent struggling as a teenager...I know without a doubt what a powerful tool [Rock’s Bridge to Life group] would've been.”

Our Young Adult Bridge to Life body image therapy group is a virtual, weekly 75-minute group designed for college-aged young adults who want to build a healthier, more peaceful relationship with their bodies while navigating the transition into adulthood.

This group is rooted in a body-acceptance and Health at Every Size® framework, supporting participants in moving away from body shame and food stress and toward trust, balance, and self-compassion. Rather than fighting your body, you’ll learn how to feel more at home in it—gaining tools to support both physical and emotional well-being during a time of major change and independence.

Participants will work toward living a more embodied, grounded life. The group offers space to process experiences that often impact body image during college and early adulthood, including social and cultural pressures, academic stress, identity development, and changing routines.

Group Details:

The group is set to run on Wednesdays starting February 2026. Please fill out our interest form and indicate which timeframe on Wednesdays work best for you. This group will run throughout the year and meet virtually over Zoom. The group is open to young adults of all genders, aged 18 - 24 years (MD & VA).

What’s Expected of Young Adult Bridge to Life Group Members:
We ask that clients commit to the group for a minimum of 8 weeks. This helps promote stability in the group, which creates a safe space for everyone to be vulnerable with one another. Clients are encouraged to utilize the group until they feel solid enough in their recovery to increase their independence and reduce the amount of support they receive.
