Lasting Freedom Recovery Series

"It's just really nice to know you're not going through it alone. This allowed me to develop friendships with others who struggle with the same issues I do, which is something that was completely lacking in my life. I care about these people deeply...and pray for them every day." - Mary

We have partnered with FINDINGbalance to offer three modules of Lasting Freedom, a Christian recovery series that is designed to help you navigate eating disorder recovery, overcome your struggles with food and body image and engage your faith to find hope in the recovery process. Topics for the series include intuitive eating, body image and approaching the holidays.

With a simple format of video teachings, practical recovery tools and tips, group discussion and prayer to close, the Lasting Freedom recovery series will help you make peace with your body during all seasons of life.

Who can join Lasting Freedom?

Lasting Freedom is a Christian series that is designed to support individuals who struggle with disordered eating, chronic dieting, and food and body image issues. Individuals across the nation can join the group virtually and the course is open to all genders.

How is a Lasting Freedom recovery course run?

Currently, all Lasting Freedom courses are being held virtually through Zoom. This course is available for community members to access nationwide. Each week includes video teachings, recovery tools, group discussion and prayer.

Group sizes typically range from 5 – 15 attendees. Groups with 10+ attendees split into smaller breakout groups during the discussion, so that all members get the opportunity to contribute to the conversation. The Lasting Freedom recovery series is run by trained lay professionals and volunteers who understand eating disorders and mental health.

Are there multiple Lasting Freedom series?

Yes! See the main series we offer below.

  • Lasting Freedom Holiday recovery course is a six-week support series designed to help you find peace with food and joy in your relationships this holiday season with proper planning, tools, support and accountability. The course covers topics like shaping your new year now, holiday food strategies, planning for peace, the beauty of boundaries, the gift of worth and legacies of gratitude.

  • Finding Peace with Your Body course is a six-week support series designed to gently help you discover a deeper compassion for your body, regardless of how it looks today. It explores practical aspects of how we can make peace with our bodies from a foundation of what is Biblically true about our bodies as God created them.

  • Finding Food Freedom course is a six-week support series designed to help you understand the important role food plays in your life, so that you can begin to heal the relationship between food and your body. It covers topics like intuitive eating, meal planning to live a full and happy life, understanding food’s role and accepting your body as God created it. Register for our January course here.

What is the cost?

Cost for the full six-week course starts at $99 ($16/week). We never want finances to be a barrier to care and we have scholarships and sliding scale opportunities available, just ask. Email us at faithsupport@rockrecoveryed.org for questions about our groups.

As a general policy, Rock Recovery does not issue refunds for Lasting Freedom and our other faith support groups.
