GivingTuesday 2025 is December 2nd!
December 2nd is GivingTuesday, a global movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. Each and every year, we are so inspired by the ways our community rallies together in support of Rock Recovery. This year, we have an ambitious goal to raise $10,000 in support of our teen therapy programming.
Teresa, a Rock Recovery alumna and former Board member, was just a teenager herself when she first walked through Rock Recovery's doors. Because of the healing she found through our Bridge to Life group therapy program, she has committed to matching all gifts up to $10,000 until midnight on December 2nd!
"I don't know the date or time when I crossed from "in recovery" to "recovered," but I do know what it means to be recovered. Now, instead of crying over salad, I am lovingly designing the kitchen in my new home. I have two children, and this space will be the center of our home." - Teresa, Program Graduate
The unique pressures facing youth today (social media, cyberbullying, body image comparisons, and more) have contributed to an ongoing youth mental health crisis. The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) shares that 77% of children and adolescents as young as 12 dislike their bodies. By age 14, almost 70% of young girls are trying to lose weight.
However, studies have shown that adolescents who seek treatment before the age of 18 have a 69% recovery rate. Early intervention is critical, and Rock Recovery wants to be a bigger part of the solution.
In 2026, Rock Recovery plans to expand its current teen and youth programming by adding two new virtual therapy groups. This means that teens aged 14-18 across all of Maryland and Virginia will have access to life-saving therapy and a supportive peer community!
We need your help in getting more teens through our doors and into our therapy programming so they can gain the tools necessary to recover.
Make your pledge, and join us in celebrating GivingTuesday this year so that more teens can find healing in 2026 and beyond. Thank you for changing and saving lives with us!
