Each year, we celebrate Eating Disorders Awareness Week to honor and bring light to the millions of individuals and families whose lives are affected by disordered eating.
This year’s theme is: Fighting for Change, Committed to Change – Every Body Belongs.
Eating disorders affect 30 million Americans in their lifetime. They impact EVERY BODY, across all backgrounds and communities, yet it often takes years for people to recognize and seek help. Eating disorders have devastating mental and physical consequences but are too often overlooked due to a lack of understanding, myths about who can experience them, and a lack of accessible, quality, culturally responsive resources.
As an official partner and collaborator in this special week of awareness, we will highlight key insights, host community events, and spotlight the voices throughout the week that are driving change.
Let’s come together this #EDAWeek to fight for change, commit to change, and remind every person impacted by eating disorders that they are not alone because #EveryBODYBelongs. #EDAW
