Carylynn Kemp Larson, Ph.D. – President & Founder
Carylynn Kemp Larson is a graduate of Centre College (Danville, KY) and earned a Doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychologist from George Mason University. She has an extensive background in designing and implementing individual and organizational development programs. As she volunteers her time with Rock Recovery, she works as an internal consultant for the National Science Foundation and serves as adjunct faculty at George Washington University. Cary is an active member of the International Leadership Association, the Society for Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, and the American Psychological Association. Cary and her husband Ben live in Arlington, VA, where they are active members of Grace Community Church. Cary and Ben love exploring DC with their son Charlie.
Sara Grohl, MBA – Treasurer
Sara Grohl serves as a board member and Treasurer of Rock Recovery. While an Ohioan at heart, she currently lives in Arlington and has also called Chicago and NYC home. She is dedicated to helping others achieve freedom from their eating disorders and lead happier lives. Professionally, Sara focuses on capital market research and has demonstrated success at a bond rating agency, a large investment management firm and a regulatory organization. Sara earned an MBA from Case Western Reserve University with a concentration in finance. As a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) she finds tremendous joy in assisting her students discover their hidden capabilities. She also enjoys tennis, skiing and sailing.

Bobbi Boteler, RD, LD, CEDRD – Board Member
Bobbi Boteler has worked in the eating disorder field as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in private practice for 14 years at Rebecca Bitzer MS, RD and Associates. Bobbi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Maryland and completed her Dietetic Internship through Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Dietitian (CEDRD) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) and a founding member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Dietitians (IFEDD). Bobbi previously served on the board of Eating Disorder Network of Maryland, a local non-profit organization, before the organization merged with Rock Recovery. Bobbi is recovered from her own eating disorder, which has been the driving force in her career. She follows the Health at Every Size (HAES) model in her practice and follows a non-diet approach. Bobbi lives in Carroll County with her husband and three children.
Pascal Laporte – Board Member
Pascal is the Founder of Clarendon Fitness, an Arlington based provider of fitness and nutrition solutions for adults and children. Prior to starting Clarendon Fitness in 2010, Pascal worked for several years as a Vice President for United Business Technologies in McLean, Virginia, the country’s leader in digital office solutions. Pascal also has experience helping others from his years donating and participating with Arlington Community Foundation and other charitable causes in the DC metro area. Pascal earned his Bachelor’s degree at Pomona College, in Claremont, CA with an emphasis in Mathematics and African History. He spends his spare time with close friends and family. When he is able, Pascal enjoys traveling the world, exercising, reading books, and enjoying fine dining at the great restaurants.
Alexia Mowry, MA – Board Member
Alexia is the Director of Clinical Outreach at Center For Discovery, a national provider of residential and outpatient eating disorder, mental health, and substance abuse treatment for adolescents and adults. Prior to joining the Discovery team in 2007, Alexia worked for several years as an Account Executive and New Business Development specialist in advertising in San Diego, CA. Alexia also has experience teaching children and adolescents from her years as a substitute teacher in the San Diego School District. Alexia earned her Bachelor’s degree at University of California, Santa Barbara in Political Science and English and her Master’s degree at San Diego State University in Communications with an emphasis in Advertising and Media. Alexia is the mother of two young children, Jack three and Sophie one. Her spare time is devoted to being with her husband Nick and her two little ones who keep her incredibly busy exploring, teaching, and seeing the world through the eyes of little people. When she is able, Alexia enjoys traveling, running, reading, and enjoying the California sunshine with her husband and family.
Kortney Parman, RD RN MS FNP-C – Board Member
Kortney is both a nurse practitioner and a registered dietitian and joined Rock Recovery as a Board Member at Large in December 2014. With experience in several different eating disorder treatment settings, she offers expertise in the medical and nutritional aspects of recovery. She studied Nutrition and Dietetics at Samford University and completed her dietetic internship at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Additionally, she holds a BS in Nursing from Emory University and a MS in Nursing from UCSF. Kortney is passionate about using her unique skill set to support those on the journey to health and recovery from eating disorders. An Atlanta native, she now calls California home and can often be found training for her next triathlon or traveling.
